Halloween

Halloween is always a much anticipated holiday for preschool children so of course we have lots of fun playing games, eating treats, and singing songs!  This year for Halloween we had a spooky themed sensory box with black beans as the filler.  We used Halloween words and counted the syllables together.  We learned what it means to make predictions and practiced by each making a prediction about what would happen Halloween night at their house.  We learned about circumference and tested it on our pumpkins using yarn.  We weighed a variety of different sized pumpkins and then compared our own weights to the pumpkins.  We played Halloween Bingo and did some pumpkin bowling.  We danced and sang our hearts out to many Halloween songs and finger plays.  We read some fun stories, decorated pumpkin cookies, played pass the broomstick and did an eyeball relay and much more! The best part of all was coming dressed up in our costumes!
