Pin the Heart For Cupid
We got to help poor cupid spread the love with this classic game. My class requested a pin the ____ game for Valentine's so I couldn't resist!
Suck it Up!
I found this game HERE. Really-what's not to love about it! Maybe the kids slobber in the cup they transferred the candies to, but other than that it's a really cute game! Great little challenge for honing in those fine motor skills!
Don't Break My Heart
This is basically the same game as "Don't Eat Pete" Valentine's style. The kids generally really love this game not only because they get to eat lots of treats, but because of the surprise element and anticipation of waiting for someone to pick the chosen heart. It is endearing to hear the preschoolers yell out "Don't Break My Heart!" Love!
Heart Math
For this fun Valentine's game the kids roll the dice. They either get a plus or minus sign on one dice and then a number on the other. Basically, they end up adding or subtracting hearts from the dots depending on what they roll. It can get a little tricky if you get a number such as minus seven and you only have five hearts on the page. I don't know if I'm ready to get into that with my pre-k class just yet. I may turn them all into plus signs for next year. I do really love that it teaches the difference between adding and subtracting in a very visual and hands on way though so maybe not!

L is for Love Patterns
We had a great time coming up with different patterns to complete on our pattern cards. We used some of my Valentine's erasers to do this math activity.
Heart Cutting Basket
I added hearts to our cutting box in celebration of Valentine's day. The kids couldn't get enough of this! I had to restock it three times during the week. I love when kids are excited to try new things and end up learning so much in the process!
L is for Love
This was our Valentines sensory tub, complete with lima beans and loads of love! This is truly a favorite every year!
L is for Light Saber Sight Words
For this fun game the kids get to stack a cup for every sight word they can read. When they are finished building a fortress they can use the light saber to knock it over. Our new word for the week was like.

L is for Lots of Love
I personally LOVE all the fun treats and one of our many great mom's brought in some pink square donuts from one of the favorite local bakeries! Lots of smiling, silly kids!
Lips and Stache's
Aren't we just so lovely! What a cute bunch of kids! This followed our theme L is for Lips (I didn't think the boys would appreciate the big pouty lips so they got mustaches they could put on top of their lips.
Cupid's Loop of LOVE!
Now this was a fun game!!! I found a similar idea on Pinterest HERE, HERE, and HERE and tweeked them to work with supplies we had here at school and what I thought would be most successful for my three year old class. We used a Pink Hula Hoop (L is for Loop-so that's what we called it) and then had the kids blow the Q-tip through the straw and then through the loop. They were all able to successfully get it through at least once. Totally fun game! They got pretty excited about it!

Letter L
L is for Lions. Look at this adorable errr Ferocious lion! He got right into character for me with his toughest faces.
As part of our lion unit we did some size sorting using zoo animals.
We also used our rug to play a couple games. For the first one we matched play letters to their pair. We also played freeze dance with letters by dancing around the rug. When I stopped the music the children jumped on a letter and "froze" then they told me the name and sound of the letter they ended up on.
L is for Ladybug Addition
We used black beans to add and count spots on the ladybugs. Basically I just wrote on my white board a problem such as 8 + 4 = and then we would each count 8 beans for the left side of the bug and then 4 sides on the other half of the bugs body. We would then count them to see what it equaled and total it up on the board.
