Don't Eat Pete
We used the classic Don't Eat Pete game to teach shapes and some of our new sight words this week. I made a simple game board that can be changed depending on what you are trying to teach the kids. You can print your own HERE.
To play the game: First you place some sort of small treat (marshmallows, craisins, cereal, M & M's etc.) on each square. Next have one child leave the room while you or one of the players pick which square is going to be Pete. Have the child come back and then they start picking up the treats one at a time telling you what is in the box until they reach for the one designated as Pete. When they reach for "Pete" everyone calls out "Don't eat Pete" and then someone else gets a turn.
