The old vinegar and baking soda chemical reaction is another classic that NEVER gets boring! I always look forward to this lesson because the kids love it so much! Lots of squeals, ooh's and ahh's every time. This year was not an exception! Tons of fun and great for hands on learning! We used red and yellow food coloring to make bright orange "hot lava". We also read lots about volcano's for this unit and sang some volcano songs etc.
