Y is For Yucky and Yummy

I thought the letter 'Y' was a great letter to sneak in the sense of taste topic.  We talked all week about things that are yucky vs. yummy.  We related it to taste buds, the role the brain plays in tasting different foods, the different parts of the tongue that determine whether food is sour, sweet, salty or bitter and we also had the chance to try some of these kinds of foods and graph whether we thought they were yucky or yummy.  The foods we used for our activity were pretzels, sour worms, craisins, and swedish fish.  The graph below shows our results from class.
