It Looked Like Spilled Milk

On the day we learned about the color white I read the story "It Looked Like Spilled Milk" to the children.  I used flannel pieces to add to the fun and make it a little more interactive for the kids.  This is an engaging story where children can use their imagination to think about how clouds can take on many different forms and appear differently to all of us.  When I was finished reading the story I showed the kids how they could make their own clouds by painting a mixture of equal parts shaving cream and white glue onto paper.  When it dried it had a smooth, puffy texture that the kids were thrilled with! Great sensory experience as well!  Very fun activity!
