Green Day

For our green celebration Timmy Turtle (who happens to be a little timid too) was kind enough to come for a visit.  The kids love all our little classroom critters and they love to have them come help teach our class how to do different things.  They are seriously in high demand around here!  We also had a little lesson about color mixing.  I got the idea from Pinterest which is my favorite preschool pastime. For this activity we looked at many different shades of green found on paint chip cards.  Then we talked about how different shades of green are made and all the different color names.  Then they got to actually mix some paint colors and see how many different kinds of green they could concoct.  They really seemed to like this art project.  Since this week was also our VIP week we played a little get to know you game called 'Knock, Knock, Who am I?"  And wouldn't you know, we just got a new shower curtain the night before so we had a green fabric to cover up with.  For this game I had all the kids close their eyes and then selected one child to sit under the fabric.  Next everyone opened their eyes and the person underneath shouted out "Knock, knock, who am I?" All the kids guessed which child's voice they heard.  We then repeated until all the children had a turn.  Very, very fun for the kids!  Lot's of cute giggles!
