R is for Rainbow's

We had Rainbow Cupcakes for snack time.

We made Rainbow art using watercolors and sprinkled with salt to see what would happen.  The kids were pretty excited about the results!
We made rainbow necklaces using rainbow colored pony beads and fruit loops.  This is a wonderful activity for fine motor control and as you can see my class has had lots of practice with this.  They all filled in their entire necklaces with  beads/loops.  I let them eat some Fruit Loops along the way, cause really, who doesn't want to do that!

We did an experiment to see what would happen if we added food coloring to water and then put white carnations in the containers.  Since we did a similar celery experiment earlier in the year some of the kids predicted that the white flowers would turn the same color as the water they were in- kind of like what happened with the previous experiment .  What smart scientists we have!
