Graduation Celebration

Such a bittersweet day for me!  I loved celebrating with the kids, but after having most of them for two years and with what a sweet group of kids they are, I have grown super attached to them!  It's going to be hard to let them go off to kindergarten! But, I know the time has come and I feel very confident that they are well prepared for kindergarten and ready for the next big step in their lives and I am excited for them!  I am happy that they all love learning so much!  They come to school excited and ready to learn about the world and sharing their knowledge.  They tell me about the letters and words they find in their homes and community, and are constantly writing words and trying to sound everything out they can!  It's been so fun to teach these darling kids!

For graduation we recited a graduation poem/song, sang a counting to 100 song, Sang Aikendrum while using props/mini-costumes, watched a movie of the years highlights (you can watch in above post), sang May There Always Be Sunshine (With some American Sign Language), shared what we want to be when we grow up (Always a favorite), and did the graduation ceremony-complete with the official microphone haha.

For a treat we had Swiss rolls decorated to look like diplomas.  I love the fun bright colors!  The kids got to take home their years journals (priceless!!!) and a balloon with bubbles.  Our mom's brought me and the kids cute letters, presents, treats and Hawaiian Lei's (filled with candy).  We have such fun and involved mom's in our class! It's been another fabulous year!!!
