In case you didn't notice I really love to incorporate food into learning. I believe we can learn best when using as many of our five senses as possible. In fact, I gave it some thought a few weeks ago and it turns out my most memorable learning experiences really did involve food! I remembered loving making cell cakes in biology, having a medieval pheasant feast in history class, a taste testing experiment in science class, and making a Bouche de Noel for French class. Two of the few memories I have of preschool were making home made bread and butter, and having a Thanksgiving feast. In Kindergarten I still remember eating Japanese rice paper candy, having Japanese soup with chopsticks, and decorating milk carton gingerbread houses and gingerbread man/woman cookies. I hope I can create some fun memorable learning experiences for the kids in our class as well! We made these on brown day to help the kids learn the color brown. The kids got to make & decorate their own using graham crackers, peanut butter marshmallows and chocolate chips.
I love all the different creations, upside down ears, funky noses ha ha, so cute!
