D for Dinosaur and E for Egg

For science this week we placed an egg in a container full of vinegar to see what happens.  It turns out the egg loses its shell and gets pretty squishy and it is pretty cool.  This is supposedly similar to what scientists have claimed dinosaur eggs would have felt like.  The kids were able to smell, touch, and observe the egg throughout the week.  Each morning the kids came in all excited to look at it.  I reassured the kids that this is just pretend and that a real dinosaur would not come out of the egg.  There's always a few who ask me if one is coming out. While most are entirely excited about this some are just never impressed by that idea.
