How to Draw a Bat

I am very excited about how this activity went down!!!  I love to challenge the children and try new things with them.  This year I have been doing about one step-by-step drawing lesson a month.  If you look at the picture on the bottom center, this is the example I used....pretty tricky eh?  But it was so cute and I really believed the kids could learn from this so I used the example and showed them step-by-step what to do on my white board.  Did they not turn out just adorable?  I was SO impressed with how cute they each turned out!  I just think it was a fun way to teach them how different shapes can be turned into a beautiful piece of art, and it is a great activity for following directions and fine motor development.  Also, I believe it helps them see how drawing is often a step-by-step process and doesn't need to overwhelm us if we find the shapes and break things down into small parts. The kids seemed pretty pleased with their pics.  I didn't want them to feel frustrated so I re-did steps with them as needed.  Most did not need this.   I found this activity HERE.
